Tax Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant to join our team at Atlassian. As a Tax Accountant, you will play a critical role in addressing the complex tax issues facing our expanding technology business.
This is a remote position, and we are open to hiring candidates from any location on the East Coast of Australia with sufficient timezone overlap with our team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare international corporate income tax returns and supporting schedules
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions
- Prepare international tax schedules
- Arrange corporate income tax payments
- Review the General Ledger for tax-sensitive accounts and flow through adjustments into the provision/tax return
- Assess the impact of changes in tax laws/accounting standards and coordinate changes to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with external advisors and internal stakeholders
- Assist with tax authority reviews/audits
- Started working towards becoming a Qualified Accountant (Masters of Taxation and/or CA/CPA)
- At least 2-3 years proven experience in direct tax (commerce and/or chartered practice)
- Strong tax and legal research skills, including the interpretation of tax office rulings and provisions in income tax legislation
- Solid tax compliance experience and experience applying tax effect accounting principles under IFRS and/or US GAAP
- Experience solving complex tax issues
- Excellent technical skills and proficiency in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
- Experience with Oracle, Onesource Tax Provision, and Alteryx or an interest in learning
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
