About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Youth Support Mentor to join our team at Hunter Recruitment Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to young people aged 15-24, helping them navigate the path to education and employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide vocational guidance to participants, helping them identify and achieve their vocational and employment goals through Job Plans.
  • Maintain participant engagement and connect them to specialist support services, ensuring effective reporting and communication.
  • Utilize government incentives to facilitate capacity building through education and training, and provide one-on-one and group training programs.
  • Work towards sustainable employment outcomes for participants, leveraging your knowledge of the local labour market to connect them with the right opportunities.
Requirements
  • Thrives on meaningful conversations with young people in need of guidance and support.
  • Has a knack for writing standout resumes and creating employment pathways for youth with little or no experience.
  • Is dedicated, creative, and passionate about helping young people succeed.
  • Communicates effectively and is an empathetic listener.
  • Keeps a pulse on the local labour market and can connect participants with the right opportunities.
  • Is confident delivering employability skills workshops/programs in both one-on-one and group settings, in collaboration with local employers.
  • Can juggle a diverse caseload and handle multiple priorities.
  • Is tech-savvy with strong administrative and computer skills.
  • Holds a current driver's license and can obtain necessary clearances (Working with Children, Criminal History, NDIS Worker Screening).
