Compliance Risk Management Specialist

This role plays a vital part in supporting the Trading & Transition (T&T) business unit in developing and improving their control environment. The primary objective is to prevent and detect potential breaches of compliance obligations.
The key responsibilities include:
- Obligation Management: Collaborating with T&T Obligation Owners to understand allocated obligations and assisting them in managing these obligations effectively
- Risk Management: Helping Obligation Owners identify and assess potential compliance risks in processes, systems, and business activities
- Process Documentation: Working with Obligation Owners and Control Owners to document end-to-end processes, identify controls, and drive continuous improvement of business processes
- Controls Management: Assessing existing controls with Obligation Owners and Control Owners to ensure they are relevant, complete, and address compliance risks
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitoring compliance performance and coordinating incident management activities; managing the T&T compliance governance forum
We are seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance professional who has a strong understanding of the Australian energy sector or other highly regulated environments. Ideally, you will have:
- Degree qualifications in Law, Commerce, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
- An ability to interpret, review, and translate complex regulatory requirements into practical applications within our business processes, systems, and governance frameworks
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization
- Superior critical thinking skills to evaluate controls, identify risks, and potential failure points in business processes
