Job Title: Business Banking Professional

This role presents a 10-month contract/secondment opportunity in the Operations department of a leading banking institution.

The Operations department is responsible for fulfilling, settling, and servicing business lending products including Merchant Facilities, Bank Guarantees, CommBiz, Audit Certificates, and CommSec Operations.

We provide support to our Business Banking colleagues and other segments to deliver exceptional service to a wide range of customers including small businesses, franchises, large-scale corporate entities, and CommSec clients.

A team within the Operations department known as Non-Core Originations comprises around 100 operational professionals. The team's objective is to meet the origination needs of CommSec clients, particularly the establishment of International Equities, Exchange Traded Options, and Margin Loan accounts.

The team also assists with client maintenance activities involving additional authority and Power of Attorney requests.

As a Business Banking Associate, you will establish and maintain productive relationships across various teams including Business & Private Banking, Retail Banking Services, Group Operations, Product Risk & Compliance, Program Management, Technical Support & IT, Product & Marketing, Line 1, and Operational Risk, and Customer Engagement & Sales.

Your core responsibilities may include:

  • Providing superior levels of internal customer service by responding to and managing stakeholder enquiries, complaints, and issues.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes within your team or work area.
  • Conducting investigations in respect to stakeholder requests and/or as a result of exception-based issues.
  • Contributing to and/or completing data reconciliations.
  • Performing general administrative duties as required.
  • Practicing prudent risk management by identifying and responding to business risks.

You will be required to establish and perform customer identification for various CommSec accounts, maintain a robust control framework, record rework, and participate in cross-training to up-skill individuals and reduce key person/function risk.

To be successful in this role, you will have prior experience in a similar role in a product or process environment and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
