Job Role Overview:
">The Longhole Driller is responsible for executing underground production drilling, ground support and other mining tasks as directed by senior personnel.
">Key responsibilities include:
• Accurately drilling a series of Longholes to a design pattern using a mechanized drill.
• Reading and accurately following mine instruction plans with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient and profile.
• Setting up and troubleshooting on Longhole Drill rigs.
• Complete thorough pre-start inspections before using the equipment, ensuring all tools and equipment are serviceable and safe.
• Liaise with Shift Supervisors and previous shifts to obtain all necessary information about work areas.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
">• A minimum three (3) years' experience in underground hard rock mining techniques.
• Experience in underground hard rock mining techniques preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge required.
• Ability to read and understand 2D plans.
• Strong communication skills essential.
• Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices required.
• Senior First Aid certificate desirable.
