Job Summary:

The role of a Material Handler involves efficiently and safely operating manual or electric pallet jacks to transport products, materials, and goods within designated warehouse or storage areas.

This position requires ensuring items are moved accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual or electric pallet jacks to move products, materials, and goods throughout the warehouse.
  • Load and unload pallets from trucks, shelves, or racks.
  • Ensure pallets are stacked and stored correctly to optimize space and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory within the warehouse.
  • Verify product and material counts and report any discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Follow all safety protocols and warehouse procedures, including proper lifting techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area, ensuring it remains clear of hazards.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor or warehouse manager.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating a pallet jack or similar equipment is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Good physical condition, with the ability to lift and move heavy materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work in varying temperatures (if applicable).

Work Environment:

  • Warehouse or distribution center.
  • May require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Will occasionally need to work in cold or hot environments depending on the nature of the warehouse.
