Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Turf Manager to join our team at Hamilton Island Golf Club. This is a unique opportunity to work on one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world, situated on Dent Island in the middle of a National Park.

The successful candidate will assist our Golf Course Superintendent with preparing and maintaining the golf course greens and garden areas. This includes undertaking turf and garden maintenance and landscape construction duties.

You will live on beautiful Hamilton Island and commute 7 minutes by ferry to the Golf Course. You will be working as part of a friendly and supportive team, where you can share your passion for horticulture and customer service.

The role involves:

  • Maintaining all course fairways, tees, greens and rough areas
  • Applying fertilizers as directed by the supervisor, including maintaining a log of application
  • Assisting with course irrigation
  • Maintaining oil, fuel and fluid levels for all types of grounds-keeping machinery

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Turf Management or Greenkeeping
  • A valid Driver Licence
  • A Chemical Handling certificate (highly regarded)
  • Sound knowledge of machinery and equipment related to this industry
  • Previous experience in a similar role
