Relief Chef

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our team at Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc. as a Relief Chef. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

• Manage the preparation and presentation of meals, ensuring they meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff, ensuring efficient and safe food handling practices.
• Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse needs of our residents, including those with specific dietary requirements.
• Collaborate with our care team to ensure that meals are served in a timely and respectful manner.
• Conduct regular stock takes and manage inventory to minimize waste and optimize food costs.

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cooking or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in commercial cooking, preferably in an aged care or healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and handling practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
