Wood is seeking a highly experienced Lead Structural Designer to join its Brisbane Mining and Mineral group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering engineering solutions for a net zero future.

We are at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future, and a key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of designers of all levels on a major project
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and spreadsheets
  • Broad knowledge of construction techniques and plant operations
  • Good understanding of mineral resource technology and structural technology
  • Experience with Process Plant design and layout
  • Possess teamwork skills as well as an understanding of other discipline requirements and expectations
  • Quick and accurate with methodical approach to allocated work areas
  • Good understanding of the scope of work and project development process
  • Proficient checking skills with ability to work unsupervised, focus on task completion, initiative
