Job Title: Rig Mechanic

Programmed Offshore is seeking a skilled Rig Mechanic to join their project team based out of Karratha, WA.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing preventative and corrective maintenance, communicating regularly with other departments, and ensuring accurate data entry into the Computer Maintenance Management System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a safety leader, identifying hazards and controls to manage associated risks, with a focus on Permit to Work and Isolation procedures.
  • Perform daily checks on the condition of areas and equipment, informing the Mechanical Supervisor and/or maintenance lead of any technical problems or limitations.
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance, maintaining an updated and accurate historical record of all maintenance done and equipment certification documents.
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks, ensuring that maintenance is planned, organized, supervised, and executed in accordance with well programs, company requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain an understanding of the relationship between the rigs safety case, identified Major Accident Hazards, the bow tie assessment, Performance Standard (PS) documents, and maintain a minimum amount of spares onboard for critical/safety/maintenance/operational systems.
  • Maintain workshop equipment and tools to the highest safety standards, supporting members of the crew in the operation and maintenance practices of equipment, and clearly and accurately communicating work status at end of shift and end of hitch hand overs.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification and/or industry experience.
  • Minimum three to five years of offshore experience in the position of Rig Mechanic.
  • Experienced and trained on hydraulic systems troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Completion of all mandatory training and certification requirements for Mechanic as described in the training matrix.
