Job DescriptionThe Senior Payroll Officer will be responsible for processing and managing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for approximately 1250+ employees across three entities, including employees under various awards. Key responsibilities include:
- Processing and auditing Superannuation, Child Support, PAYG payments, kiwisaver, PAYE, and Student loan deductions;
- Preparing payroll end-of-period reconciliations, reports, and accruals (including leave calculations);
- Preparing and lodging accurate monthly payroll tax returns for relevant states;
- Demonstrating a sound knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation and Modern Awards;
- Providing excellent customer service as the first point of contact for payroll queries;
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience with high-volume end-to-end payroll processing;
- Experience and knowledge of Modern Awards, preferably the Food, Beverage, and Tobacco Manufacturing Award and Storage Services and Wholesale Award;
- A good working knowledge of end-to-end payroll and its complexities;
- A strong analytical background and proficient Excel skills, including the use of Vlookups and Pivot tables;
