Aircraft Surface Finisher Specialist

A critical role in ensuring the operational readiness of the Australian Airforce Wedgetail fleet. As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Surface Finisher, you will contribute to the maintenance and repair of aircraft surfaces, collaborating with the Australian Defence Force to support national security.
Key Responsibilities:- Surface Finishing: Conduct and certify ASURFIN tasks, including surface coating applications and aircraft markings in various environments.
- Collaboration: Work with maintenance planning on aircraft servicing tasks.
- Self-Certification: Certify completed tasks using the electronic maintenance system.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate maintenance records for paint facility components.
- Touch-Ups: Perform necessary paint touch-ups on unit vehicles.
- Task Completion: Execute surface finisher tasks.
- Inventory Management: Order and manage supplies for surface finisher tasks.
- Safety Standards: Uphold WHS practices in the paint shop and report issues.
- Training: Supervise and train junior technicians in surface finishing.
- Documentation: Keep records of non-aircraft tasks in the paint shop.
- Facility Management: Oversee SURFIN operations.
- Certificate III in Aeroskills (Surface Finishing)
- C class driver's license
- Australian Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain a BASELINE clearance
