
Compassionate Care Coordinator/Counsellor Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team as a Care Coordinator/Counsellor.
Job Description:
The role involves providing trauma-informed counselling and care coordination to individuals experiencing and recovering from violence. This includes supporting clients through safety planning, case management, and system navigation. The successful candidate will also contribute to service development and sector capacity building by feeding back community needs, trends, and best practice approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide trauma-informed counselling and care coordination to individuals experiencing and recovering from violence
- Support clients through safety planning, case management, and system navigation
- Build collaborative relationships with external services and advocate for inclusive responses for LGBTQ+ communities
- Contribute to service development and sector capacity building
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Experience and qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field
- Current registration with an appropriate professional body (e.g. AASW, AHPRA)
- Knowledge of sexual, domestic, and family violence, particularly how it affects LGBTQ+ people and communities
- Strong care coordination and counselling skills, with the ability to balance empathy with professional boundaries
