Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Geoanalytical Laboratory Operations Manager to join our team at Bureau Veritas.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished manager to lead and develop our Central Weighing department, ensuring exceptional results and high performance targets. You will be responsible for fostering a safe working environment, implementing quality control measures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Team

You will be part of a dynamic and experienced team dedicated to delivering outstanding geo-analytical testing services. Our team values collaboration, innovation, and excellence in everything we do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a culture of safety and compliance by conducting regular audits, implementing corrective actions, and providing ongoing training to staff.
  • Ensure the financial and functional control of the department meets or exceeds key performance indicators (KPIs) and business expectations.
  • Lead and develop a large team, setting and achieving performance goals, providing coaching and mentoring, and facilitating career development opportunities.
  • Maintain equipment efficiencies, ensuring timely maintenance, calibration, and repair.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, optimise resource allocation, and increase operational efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in geo-analytical laboratories.
  • A formal tertiary qualification in Science, such as a BSc.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Proficient computer software literacy.
  • Experience with spectral equipment is highly regarded.
  • Excellent organisational, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in sample preparation and other laboratory analysis is advantageous.
Benefits
  • $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • A Monday-to-Friday day shift roster.
