Weight and Research Inspector

We are seeking a skilled Weight and Research Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for verifying weight, calculating density, and classifying shipments in accordance with the DFL Rules Tariff and National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC).

• Verify weights and densities of shipments
• Classify shipments according to NMFC rules
• Perform inspections in a NON-temperature controlled, loud and dusty environment
• Climb in and out of trailers from ground level
• Walk & stand for long periods of time
• Carry and/or pickup freight to perform inspection process
• Process and review W&R reports to identify revenue recovery opportunities
• Conduct inspections of shipments and document actual commodity, take pictures, document dimensions
• Cross reference Bill Of Lading to ensure accurate information is designated by shipper
• Enter correct data into the AS400 system for accurate class, weight and dimensions

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to work independently and as a team member
• Ability to make decisions in a fast paced work environment
• Knowledge of the LTL industry, and/or W&R, is preferred
• Ability to demonstrate leadership, communication and administrative skills
• Ability to work ALL shifts / ALL hours
