About the Role

The Senior Planner will provide critical advice and expertise to deliver improved transport outcomes. This includes:

  • Providing technical planning advice to support departmental objectives, projects, and statutory requirements.
  • Assisting in the preparation of state-wide guidelines, best practices, and training to ensure consistent and authoritative decision-making.
  • Supporting the coordination of matters before VCAT, Planning Panels, and Advisory Committees.
  • Leading reform and change processes to deliver improved outcomes and administrative efficiency in strategic planning and place planning decision-making.
  • Providing technical planning advice to support transport objectives, projects, and statutory decision-making.
  • Preparing state-wide guidelines, best practices, and training to ensure consistent and authoritative decision-making.
  • Coordinating matters before VCAT, Planning Panels, and Advisory Committees, and representing the department as needed.
  • Assisting in reform and change processes to deliver improved outcomes and administrative efficiency in strategic planning decision-making.
  • Effectively planning, organizing, and managing resources to deliver an agreed scope of work within an agreed timeframe and budget.
  • Developing strong relationships and liaising with planning regulators and stakeholders, including Transport Portfolio entities and municipal councils.
