Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Architect to join our team at Hudson Australia.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support our applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • API Design and Development: Develop scalable and efficient APIs using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and APIM.
  • Integration: Integrate APIs with front-end and back-end applications, databases, and external services using Azure virtual networking and IaC scripting.
  • Testing and Optimization: Write and execute unit and integration tests to ensure API performance and optimize code for scalability.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain API documentation to facilitate ease of use and integration for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement API security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, and data encryption, to protect user data.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor API performance and usage, identify potential issues, and provide timely maintenance and updates.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other developers, QA teams, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure API meets functional and technical requirements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in API development and integration.
  • Azure Skills: Proficient in developing Logic Apps, Azure Function Apps, Azure Service Bus, and Azure virtual networking.
  • APIM: Strong knowledge of API Management.
  • Languages and Frameworks: Proficient in one or more backend languages (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, Ruby).
  • API Technologies: Strong knowledge of RESTful and/or GraphQL API standards and best practices.
  • Security: Experience with API authentication and authorization mechanisms, such as OAuth, JWT, and OpenID Connect.
  • Database Skills: Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Tools: Experience with tools like Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, and API Gateway services.
  • Version Control: Proficient in Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with an emphasis on efficient and scalable code.
