About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to lead our Actuarial team. As a key member of our Insurance Solutions and Insights team, you will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and management to the Actuarial team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop the full Actuarial team, sharing knowledge and expertise to build capability across the business.
  • Effectively convey complex actuarial models and analysis results to stakeholders at all levels within the organization and to external parties.
  • Oversee the implementation of responsibilities in accordance with Board Policies and relevant governance frameworks.
  • Provide thought leadership and drive innovation into the establishment of and adherence to pricing and valuation policy, methodology, assumptions, and models that support the Insurance product.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of quarterly and annual APRA regulatory reports, including analysis, insights, and review, while ensuring compliance with the risk management framework.
About You

You will have significant experience in a senior actuarial role within the Life Insurance industry, including risk assessment and actuarial modeling, and excellent analytical skills to make data-driven decisions. Your effective communication skills will allow you to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders and lead a team of actuaries. You are a strategic thinker with great business acumen to understand the broader business context and innovate with new methodologies.

  • You have a degree in business or related discipline with actuarial qualifications (FIAA or equivalent).
  • You have detailed knowledge of the Group Life Insurance market, with a strong understanding of the legal frameworks surrounding contracts, policies, and the confidentiality of personal and/or medical information.
  • You have proven leadership skills in a large, complex APRA-regulated organizational setting.
