Nurse Unit Manager

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is a key leadership position within the Northern Health Authority, responsible for directing and coordinating care in a multidisciplinary environment. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership and management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a clinical team to deliver high-quality patient care
- Develop and implement effective care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Manage patient flow and ensure efficient use of resources
- Facilitate collaborative teams in the delivery of patient care
- Attend ward rounds with multidisciplinary team members and lead discussions with doctors, nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals
- Use patient and carer feedback to inform patient care service delivery
- Establish and maintain the use of evidence-based practice in the delivery of nursing care
- Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Minimum four years postgraduate Nursing or Midwifery experience, preferably at the level of ANUM
- Relevant management tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of financial management in a ward/unit setting
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and support a clinical team
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy in Microsoft applications and roster management systems
- Evidence of and commitment to patient/customer-focused care, clinical governance, and quality improvement
- Current National Police and Working with Children History Check
