**Job Title:** Survey Systems Manager

As a Survey Systems Manager, you will play a critical role in leading the delivery, support, and maintenance of bespoke farm survey collection software.

The Farm Performance, Biosecurity & Information Branch provides analysis and advice on the performance and structure of Australia's farm sector. Our mission is to develop an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative culture as we produce high-quality research on current and emerging issues in agriculture.

The core of our work involves collecting detailed physical and financial information from farms throughout Australia. This valuable and sensitive data is stored and managed by us to generate summary statistics and conduct research, while protecting its confidentiality and security.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Leading delivery, support, and maintenance of bespoke farm survey collection software
  • Leading training and troubleshooting of survey collection software used across regional and remote Australia
  • Managing and supporting farm survey database infrastructure
  • Working with others to support survey delivery
  • Contributing to the planning and coordination of team operations

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of survey data collection software and experience communicating business problems and requirements to IT developers and support staff. A history of successful project management and delivery is essential. Experience in farm surveys and/or Australian agriculture would be highly desirable.

Our team provides analysis and advice on the performance and structure of Australia's farm sector, investigates biosecurity risks facing the sector and policy responses, and supports the data and analytical infrastructure that underpins all of our work.

**Requirements:**

  • Strong understanding of survey data collection software
  • Experience communicating business problems and requirements to IT developers and support staff
  • History of successful project management and delivery
  • Experience in farm surveys and/or Australian agriculture (desirable)
