We are seeking an experienced Steel Fixer to join our team at Civmec. As a Steel Fixer, you will be responsible for the installation of reinforcing steel in concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities

* Read and interpret working plans and steel lists
* Steel erection
* Resize steel bars or mesh to the required length using bolt cutters, guillotines and power saws
* Assemble the reinforcing bars or mesh by welding, wiring or clipping into predetermined locations within the concrete
* Fabricate steel reinforcement as beams, footing pads or special units
* Join the prefabricated units together and position the reinforcement ready for concrete pours
* Clean up wire-ties
* Assist with concrete placement
* Perform other general duties to suit operational requirements as directed
* Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
* Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested
* Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as required

Requirements

* 2+ years Industrial experience in steel fixing
* Previous construction experience within the mining and resources (preferable)
* High Risk work licence with EWP (WP) over 11 meters
* Forklift Licence
* Valid Working at Heights (desirable)
* Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness card (White Card)
* Previous BHP Project experience highly regarded
