Job Summary:

Public Sector People is partnering with a large local government organization to recruit for a temporary Senior Governance Advisor position. This is a 6-month temporary contract with a competitive hourly pay rate of $55-$75 per hour, plus superannuation, depending on experience. A hybrid work model is available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and take minutes at council meetings and committee meetings, including compiling agendas and business papers.
  • Provide technical advice and direction to staff, management, and external parties on governance-related matters.
  • Undertake organizational-wide training on governance policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a governance position for an Australian local council.
  • Previous experience with InfoCouncil will be highly regarded.
