Cybersecurity Consultant Role Overview

FTI Consulting's Cybersecurity Practice is a leading provider of independent cybersecurity and risk management advisory services. As a Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in enhancing clients' cybersecurity posture through strategic and tactical advice.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with clients to provide expert guidance on cybersecurity strategies and maturity roadmaps.
  • Support the design and development of information security policy frameworks.
  • Conduct current state assessments to identify effectiveness and risks against best practice frameworks.
  • Write reports on cyber security maturity, gap assessments, and remediation plans.
  • Establish risk management plans and deliver cybersecurity risk management remediation reports.
  • Develop security awareness plans to educate employees about current threats and risks.
  • Perform threat modelling and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct security architecture assessments to identify control gaps and weaknesses.
  • Perform third-party security risk assessments and support risk management programs.
  • Assist in planning client deliverables such as security strategies, risk assessments, and policies.
  • Participate in post-incident reviews and investigations into incident root causes.
Key Qualifications and Skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in cybersecurity or a related technology discipline.
  • Industry-recognized security certifications such as SABSA, CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, SANS.
  • Previous advisory and consulting experience in cybersecurity engagements.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and frameworks (NIST, ISO27001, APRA, ASD ISM).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud infrastructure security practices.
  • 3-6 years of cybersecurity experience with exposure to consulting activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work on multiple client matters simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong collaboration and time management skills.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
