Our goal is to provide holistic, therapeutic and trauma-informed care to children in need.
The role of Therapeutic Carer involves supporting the development, maintenance and review of individual children's plans, while working under the general direction of a Therapeutic Support professional.
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Therapeutic Carer to join our team. As a Therapeutic Carer, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day care to children in ways that meet their developmental needs, and promoting their self-esteem, attachment and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care to children, including assistance with social skills, problem-solving and independent living skills.
- Support children who have experienced trauma, abuse or neglect, and help them develop coping strategies.
- Manage and respond to challenging behaviors in a trauma-informed manner.
- Document and report incidents and behavior objectively and succinctly.
Requirements:
- A relevant tertiary qualification (at least Diploma level) or at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with children and their families.
- Skills in caring for children and an understanding of child development.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
