Financial Director

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Director to join our team in the APAC region.

About the Role
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction to senior management in all areas of Finance, with a focus on maximizing operating unit profits.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop comprehensive financial objectives and strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  2. Review and approve operating budgets, conduct regular financial reviews to monitor performance, and forecast financial results and gross margin.
  3. Provide in-depth expense and gross margin analysis, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to optimize financial performance.
  4. Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant accounting practices across all areas of the organization, adhering to Corporate policies and legal requirements.
  5. Participate in high-level meetings, providing expert guidance and decision-making as appropriate, and contribute to strategic discussions relating to sales, markdowns, shrink, and discounts.
  6. Oversee all aspects of Finance, including Payroll, Payroll Accounting, G/L, Tax, and Statutory Accounting, and provide leadership and direction to the finance team.
Requirements
  • Proven experience serving in senior management positions, preferably principal positions, with major mass merchant or department store arenas, and strong retail background with knowledge of Finance, store operations, and merchandising procedures.
  • CPA/CA qualifications and demonstrated expertise in Finance, including Accounting, Payroll, G/L, Tax, and Risk Management.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a track record of expense control and budget achievement, and deep knowledge of US GAAP and Australian financial regulatory requirements.
  • Prior experience in attracting and developing high-caliber teams, and strong supervisory, delegation, organizational, and communication skills.
