Senior Cyber Defense Analyst

Job Summary:

Our company is seeking a seasoned Cyber Defense Analyst to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our APAC Cyber Defence Centre, you will be responsible for shaping and influencing defensive operations in a greenfield SOC environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the investigation and analysis of complex security incidents, with a focus on end-to-end ownership and deep OS knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain SIEM + EDR tooling proficiency, including Splunk and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement effective security strategies and procedures.
  • Provide expert guidance on cloud security, including AWS, Azure, and GCP exposure.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in SOC environments, with a strong background in hands-on triage and investigation.
  • Deep understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems, particularly in server infrastructure.
  • Comfortable with Splunk and EDR tools, as well as threat intel platforms.
  • Sydney-based role, with regular in-office presence required.
  • Shift coverage, including weekends (day only), no overnight shifts.
