Design Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the delivery of construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, designers, and construction teams.

The successful Design Manager will be responsible for:

  • Selecting and engaging consultants to produce construction documentation
  • Managing consultants and coordinating the documentation process
  • Running design meetings, following up issues raised by consultants, and handing over documentation to the construction team
  • Assisting the construction team during construction on design queries and managing client expectations throughout the design and construction process

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • At least 8 years' experience in a design management role, with previous experience working for a head contractor
  • Experience within the ECI and Tender Phase, as well as the Construction & Delivery Phase is advantageous
  • Experience working on new build construction projects valued at $30M+
