Clinical Coder Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coder to join our team.

  • The successful candidate will accurately assign morbidity and procedural classifications using ICD-10-AM to patient episodes, meeting data reporting requirements for Queensland Health.
  • They will liaise with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to improve the quality and timeliness of morbidity data and provide documentation to support coded data quality.
  • Data entry of all coded morbidity data into HBCIS and registration of relevant malignant neoplasms and other conditions as required by the Queensland Cancer Registry will be performed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurate classification of morbidity and procedural data using ICD-10-AM.
  • Liaison with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality data.
  • Efficient data entry and registration of relevant data into HBCIS and the Queensland Cancer Registry.
