Northern Beaches Hospital is a 488-bed facility offering a wide range of health services. The hospital is designed to optimize patient safety and experience, with a focus on operational efficiencies.
This role is responsible for ensuring efficient registration of patients at the Emergency Department reception desk, welcoming patients and visitors, directing them to the appropriate area or person, or personally attending to their needs.
The successful candidate will work on a rotating 24/7 roster, supporting the Patient Liaison & Admission teams where required, and assisting with the admission of patients from Emergency into the Hospital.
- Ensure the reception desk is kept tidy and presentable at all times.
- Register patients in a timely manner.
- Support the Patient Liaison & Admission teams where required.
- Certificate III in Health Administration or 2 years' experience in health administration roles (preferred).
- Ability to work 24/7 rotating roster.
- Understanding of medical terminology would be an advantage.
- Intermediate skills in IT systems, particularly MSOffice and databases.
- Demonstrated experience of inpatient management systems e.g. WebPAS.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Aptitude to multitask and work to timelines.
- Trusted to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- Exceptional customer service responding to patients and stakeholders in a timely, efficient, friendly, and courteous manner.
- Fluency in English with well-developed oral and written communication.
- Good standard of computer literacy.

Salary: If you are successful in this role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience against the current Professionals Support Services Agreement with a salary range between $35.68 per hour plus superannuation.
