Reach Robotics, a pioneering company based in Glebe, NSW, is revolutionizing underwater intervention systems for portable ROVs. We design and manufacture advanced manipulator arm solutions for harsh environments, empowering complex inspection and intervention in maritime infrastructure management, military/police operations, marine science, and autonomous robotics research applications.

Main Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our production team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Reach Robotics' products from a software, electrical, and mechanical perspective.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Conducting repairs and servicing of our core products
  • Developing robotic manipulators and related systems for challenging environments
  • Improving manufacturing processes through product design, fabrication tolerances, tooling, and materials
  • Performing root cause analysis to determine the cause of issues or failures in the field
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date timeline and quality control records
  • Providing technical support with cost and lead time for service and repairs
  • Generating Engineering Change (ECN) to track changes made to current products and their subassemblies
  • Performing incoming inspection on critical components and communicating issues with equipment vendors
  • Developing and validating new manufacturing processes
  • Establishing and maintaining ISO9001 quality processes
  • Hands-on assembly of mechanical and electrical components

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • AQF Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) or higher qualification
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role

In addition, we require:

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, lathe, milling, soldering PCB's
  • CAD modelling skills using SolidWorks and PDM
  • Ability to create part drawings suitable for CNC manufacturing
  • Knowledge of 3D Printing and additive manufacturing
  • Design for manufacturing expertise
  • Experience with O-ring and x-ring seals handling
  • Precision measuring skills using callipers and CMM (Coordinate-measuring machine)

We offer a competitive salary of $90,000 - $100,000 + superannuation, providing an attractive package for the right candidate. Only eligible and shortlisted candidates will be considered.
