The Northshore Mineral Sand Plant in Bunbury is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join its maintenance team.

This permanent position offers a 9-day fortnight on a compressed 38-hour week schedule, working from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

About the Role

The Mechanical Fitter will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for:

  • Experienced removal, installation, maintenance, and overhaul of rotating equipment, pumps, piping, compressors, elevators, and conveyor equipment
  • Identifying and reporting defects, suggesting improvements to plant equipment, methods, and procedures
  • A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and ensuring high standards when addressing breakdowns
  • Accurate documentation to ensure detailed information is entered into Tronox's Maintenance Systems
  • Commitment to a positive safety culture, hazard identification, and reporting
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Supporting Operators by preparing and isolating equipment
  • Recording process information and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Collaboration with team members and other departments for smooth operations
  • Participation in a call-out roster

About You

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A Mechanical Trade Certificate - Fitting (essential)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Mechanical Maintainer role, including Process Plants, Pumps, Structural, Mechanical, and Piping works within the Mining industry (highly desired)
  • A Current C Class Drivers' Licence unrestricted (essential)
  • Experience in fault finding and repairs to hydraulic systems
  • A team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently if required
  • Solid decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package, including a compressed 9-day fortnight roster, 38 hours per week, 12.5% Superannuation, eligibility for the Tronox bonus scheme, early access to Long Service Leave at 5 years (pro-rata), annual leave purchase program, company-paid salary continuance, journey, TPD & death insurances, annual health-related programs and benefits, novated leasing options available, and a service award program.
