Geology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Geology Technician to join our team at the Gruyere Gold Mine, located in Western Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality geology technical services and working collaboratively with the broader mining team to maximise return from the operation.

• Interacting daily with the Geology team to arrange daily work activities and ensure they are fully planned and coordinated;
• Assisting with production activities such as ore mark-ups, ore spotting, and collecting in-pit samples;
• RC drilling activities including sampling and rock chip collection;
• Diamond drill core processing, cutting and sampling activities;
• Collaborating with project geologists and drillers to address any drilling or core-related issues;
• Ensuring that sample handling and data recording processes meet quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) standards;
• Completing all tasks associated with the daily and weekly sample dispatch services to the assay laboratory;
• Ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy and free of hazards.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions, a current Western Australian drivers' licence and a basic level in Microsoft Office Applications.

• A relevant tertiary qualification in a related field would be beneficial;
• Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous;
• A strong understanding of geology principles and practices;
• Able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and management;
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines;
• Forklift certificate is desirable;
• Apply First Aid certificate is desirable.
