We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Fostering Support Practitioner to join our team at Churches of Christ, Children, Youth & Families in Townsville. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing care services to children, young people, and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit, train, and assess carers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care to children and young people.
- Deliver information sessions and pre-service training to prospective carers to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to provide effective care.
- Provide key community support services to negotiate family support plans and coordinate placements.
- Utilize assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term intervention skills and therapeutic approaches to provide both therapeutic and practical support services to children, young people, carers, and families.
- Hold a degree qualification in social work, psychology, social sciences, or a related discipline.
- Have a minimum of two years' experience in the provision of care services to children, young people, and their families in statutory care.
- Demonstrate experience in providing training to carers and applying assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term intervention skills and therapeutic approaches.
- Have applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks.
