Research Sleep Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Research Sleep Technician to provide technical support for research projects requiring overnight polysomnography studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing overnight sleep monitoring, scoring of sleep studies, and assisting with day-to-day management of the facility.

The role involves:

  • Performing all required duties of a polysomnographic technologist, including setup, configuration, and monitoring of sleep study beds, actigraphy, limited channel home sleep studies, and repairs/software management.
  • Equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Recording of anthropometric and questionnaire data and preparation of study participants for overnight polysomnography (set-up).
  • Providing meals and overnight monitoring of research sleep study participants.
  • Morning "take down" and clean up procedures.
  • Provision of technical support for sleep research activities, including maintenance of equipment, quality control, equipment trouble shooting, and record keeping.
  • Liaison with investigators, research participants, information technology personnel, operations staff, building management, security personnel, and equipment and service suppliers.
  • Scoring of polysomnography studies and coordination of research protocols under the direction of principal investigators.
