Aviation professionals seeking a challenging role will be drawn to this Aviation Adviser position, which plays a critical part in ensuring the safety and efficiency of aviation operations across Woodside's Australian assets.
The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, supporting safe, compliant, and efficient aviation operations. This requires deep technical expertise and a passion for safety, standards, and stakeholder engagement.
About the Role:This Aviation Adviser will be based in our Perth office and will act as a key advisor on aviation-related matters. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of rotary wing aircraft performance and operations, fixed-wing experience being desirable.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Champion a strong safety culture in aviation operations
- Ensure effective controls are in place for aviation and travel-related risks
- Lead and document aviation audits, ensuring timely closure of actions
- Serve as a SME in aviation event reviews and incident investigations
- Manage Technical Integrity changes and deviations relevant to aviation in accordance with the Integrity Management Standard
- Provide after-hours technical support and participate in the Incident Management Team
- Maintain and update Woodside Aviation standards and guidelines
- Advise on the application of aviation industry standards and regulations (CASA, ICAO, IOGP, CAP 437)
- Participate in aircraft operator tendering and approve acceptable operators
- Monitor aviation service provider performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement
- Engage in Aviation and Drone Communities of Practice and internal stakeholder forums
- Represent the company with key external stakeholders, including; Aviation service providers, oil and gas Aviation Advisors, regulators as required
- Deep knowledge of rotary wing aircraft performance and operations; fixed-wing experience desirable
- Strong understanding of offshore helicopter operations and relevant regulations
- Lead auditor experience with Quality auditing standards (ISO9001, AS9100)
- Proficiency in Aviation Safety Management Systems
- Demonstrated success in managing external stakeholders
- Technically competent with aviation-related digital systems
- Minimum 10 years' experience in aviation, with a focus on offshore oil and gas environments
- Commercial Helicopter Pilot Licence (CPL(H)) or Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL(H))
