Project Manager

This is a key position within the Department of Transport and Planning, responsible for leading critical road projects and ensuring their successful delivery. The Project Leader will work under limited direction, providing expertise in project planning, design, procurement, contract development, and execution of works, as well as complex stakeholder engagement and effective financial management.
The successful candidate will contribute to developing and delivering project activities, supporting the strategic direction of the Department, and building effective stakeholder relationships. This includes driving collaborative relationships with municipalities, utility agencies, contractors, and other Victorian State Government Departments.
Key Responsibilities- Effective project delivery, ensuring budget, schedule, environmental, safety, and quality outcomes are achieved.
- Stakeholder management and community engagement, actively engaging with key stakeholders and the community.
- Supplier engagement, working with the Commercial Team to ensure timely completion of commercial and project deliverables.
- Quality and risk management, ensuring projects meet and are delivered in accordance with project management, financial, risk, quality, safety procedures and policy, and comply with regulations.
- Promoting and supporting safe, inclusive, and flexible team operations.
- Experience managing infrastructure projects.
- A relevant tertiary degree in engineering, project management, or significant equivalent experience.
