We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Freight Forwarder to join our team at Leman. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating the transportation of goods by road throughout the UK and Europe.
Key Responsibilities:- Transportation Coordination: Plan and organize the movement of goods by road, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing shipment updates, and resolving issues promptly.
- Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and process all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and delivery receipts, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Carrier Management: Liaise with carriers to negotiate rates, book transport, and track shipments, building and maintaining strong relationships with carrier partners.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the transportation process, including delays, damages, and discrepancies.
- Cost Control: Monitor and control transportation costs to ensure profitability and efficiency.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of all shipments and provide regular reports to management on logistics performance and metrics.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in road freight forwarding or a similar logistics role.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of road transportation regulations and customs procedures in Europe.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English; additional European languages (e.g., French, German, Dutch) are highly desirable.
- Certifications: Relevant logistics and transportation certifications are a plus.
