About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced education leader to join our team as a Principal at Woodburn Public School. As a key member of our school community, you will be responsible for leading and managing the school's teaching and learning programs, as well as developing and implementing strategies to improve student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the school's teaching and learning programs to ensure high-quality education for all students.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes, including data-driven decision making and evidence-based practices.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community to foster a culture of inclusivity and respect.
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively to support teaching and learning, including budgeting and personnel management.
  • Lead and manage the school's Aboriginal education programs to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal students.
Requirements
  • High-level educational leadership experience, with a proven track record of leading and managing complex public schools.
  • Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole-school teaching and learning programs.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
  • Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.
  • Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal students.
Selection Criteria
  • A highly visible and approachable leader with outstanding organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to build staff capacity at all career stages.
  • Proven capacity to analyse and interpret various data sources to evaluate school programs and strategic initiatives with demonstrated evidence of impact on student outcomes.
  • Effective leadership skills with a proven ability to nurture a school culture of positive wellbeing, student-centred inclusive education, quality differentiated learning and high expectations for all students and staff.
  • Evidence of impact in leading trauma-informed practices and student wellbeing initiatives that respond to the diverse needs of students.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Please note that the classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level 1 for 2023 and also for 2024.
