Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our Mobile Maintenance team at Glencore. This role involves comprehensive maintenance responsibilities, including routine servicing, repairs, and troubleshooting of various vehicles and equipment. You will be expected to perform scheduled maintenance tasks and address breakdown repairs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and independently as required.
  • Uphold a high standard of workmanship and professionalism.
  • Conduct maintenance and repair work on light fleet vehicles, including brands such as Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Holden, and Isuzu, as well as light trucks and trailers.
  • Engage in planned maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance of assets.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Transport personnel and equipment to job sites while ensuring the return of surplus items to storage.
  • Support the achievement of budgeted development and production KPIs through diverse tasks.
  • Foster a positive team environment, prioritize safety, and contribute to meeting production targets within budget.
  • Mentor apprentices and assist in their development.
  • Participate in project work as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic.
  • Valid manual driver's license.
  • Refrigeration Handling Licence is advantageous.
  • Experience in mobile equipment repair is preferred.
  • Strong safety mindset and positive attitude.
  • Previous experience in mining or heavy industry is highly regarded.
  • High-risk work licenses, including Working at Heights and Confined Space, as well as forklift and MR or HR licenses are beneficial.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Adaptability to change with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and systems.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar systems is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Excel is beneficial.
