Job Purpose

This role involves strategic leadership and direction of the engineering design function to develop and implement business strategies that drive innovation, efficiency, and excellence.

The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team of engineers, designers, and schedulers, responsible for designing and delivering complex engineering projects across various disciplines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing business strategies to drive innovation, efficiency, and excellence in the engineering design function.
  • Leading a high-performing team of engineers, designers, and schedulers to deliver complex engineering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and regulations.
  • Collaborating with senior executives to establish organizational structures and systems that support business objectives.
  • Creating a clear vision and mission for the engineering design function that aligns with business goals.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • An appropriate Engineering Degree from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Chartered credential (CPEng) or eligibility to attain through IEAust.
  • Strong project management skills and experience in leading operations and projects in multi-discipline mechanical-electrical engineering design environments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellent results.
