About the Role
The Agronomy Specialist will provide agronomic and technical support to farmers and producers in the Inverell district, focusing on consultative services and product sales. Key responsibilities include building long-term client relationships, developing a strong understanding of clients' business goals, and sharing technical information to enhance farming performance and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on crop production practices, including agronomic and technical support.
- Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their business goals and sharing relevant information to improve their operations.
- Maintain relationships with existing customers while targeting new clients through superior sales and agronomic input.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest plant production practices and technologies.
- Coordinate and run field days and farmer meetings to share knowledge and best practices.
About You
- To be successful, you will have established yourself as a trusted advisor in an agronomy role, with an understanding of products, seasonal timings, and general requirements of rural producers.
- You will possess excellent customer service, organizational, administrative, and computing skills, complemented by strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field, along with a current driver's license, is essential. Experience in an agronomic advisory role related to agricultural chemicals and fertilizers is highly desirable.
