Job Description

Lead and supervise teams on investigations, competition analysis and assist with conducting litigation in relation to anti-competitive conduct.

Develop, implement and review plans for the conduct of investigations and/or projects.

  • Identify suitable resolutions for identified actions, changing market behaviours, activities and issues and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Prepare for litigation in the Federal Court including drafting briefs for lawyers and counsel and obtaining witness statements.
  • Assist with leading and guiding the professional development of junior team members and contribute to the leadership of the branch.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading teams to identify and analyze relevant information to draw evidence-based conclusions on competition issues.
  • Developing and implementing strategies for investigating and resolving competition-related matters.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications

In order to succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, law, or similar fields.
  • A strong understanding of the competition provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and other relevant legislation.
  • Experience leading and managing investigations into complex matters and/or competition law issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake objective, systematic analysis to draw accurate conclusions and critically assess evidence.
  • Strong written communication skills and experience in producing high-quality documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
