Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ecologist to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Ecologist, you will be responsible for leading project delivery, engaging with clients, and mentoring a high-performing team across field and office-based work.

Our ideal candidate will have a proven knowledge in fauna, flora, ecological communities, and ecosystems, with a focus on Queensland regions. They will also possess strong experience in navigating State and Commonwealth environmental approval processes and delivering strategic assessments.

The successful candidate will have the ability to build an advanced ecological technical practice, manage technical teams, and implement efficiencies and digital solutions to collaborate and work smarter. They will also drive strategic growth, technical excellence, and innovation in ecological assessments and management planning.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Leading project delivery and ensuring timely completion of projects
  • Engaging with clients to understand their needs and preferences
  • Mentoring a high-performing team to achieve their goals and objectives
  • Developing and implementing efficient workflows and processes
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver results-oriented solutions
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Proven knowledge in fauna, flora, ecological communities, and ecosystems
  • Strong experience in navigating State and Commonwealth environmental approval processes
  • Ability to lead project delivery and engage with clients
  • Experience in mentoring a high-performing team
  • Proficiency in tools like GIS, remote sensing, and digital solutions
  • Relevant degree and valid Class C driver's license (4WD experience preferred)
