About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a 1st year Mechanical Fitter/Pump Technician Apprentice to join our team at Malcolm Thompson Pumps in Seven Hills, NSW.

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work towards completing a MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade over 4 years while gaining hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, rebuilding, and modification of pumps, pump systems, controls, and components.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Fitter/Pump Technician Apprentice, you will be involved in daily activities, developing your skills under the guidance of experienced tradespeople. You will work on various tasks, including:

  • Installation and maintenance of pumps and pump systems
  • Repair and rebuilding of pumps and their components
  • Modification of pump systems and controls
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A positive attitude and genuine interest in learning from skilled tradespeople
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Punctuality and reliability, with early starts required
  • A reliable vehicle and current driver's licence (with options to be picked up on the way to work until you gain your licence)
  • A White Card or willingness to obtain
  • Pass a Pre-employment Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screen, Working with Children Check, and Police Clearance
