The Role

We are seeking a Waste Recycling Centre Attendant to join our team at Veolia, where you will play a crucial role in educating customers, providing direction, and ensuring positive engagement. This position focuses on facilitating proper waste disposal practices and maintaining service levels at the Waste Transfer Station Facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and open the facility in accordance with the facility's public opening times.
  • Check daily instructions and prioritise accordingly to complete work tasks in accordance with required deadlines and Veolia policy and procedure.
  • Ensure that customers adhere to the relevant Conditions of Entry at the facilities.
  • Undertake any required pre-start checks prior to beginning work tasks.
  • Direct customers to the appropriate unloading area as required to ensure the various types of waste materials are segregated as required.
  • Keep the facility in a clean and tidy state to meet operational performance in accordance with safety standards, customer expectations and performance targets.
  • Notify Supervisor/ Manager immediately of any incidents relating to the contract service levels.

Requirements

  • Driver's Licence
  • Manual Handling
  • Risk Management - Ability to identify Hazards & Risks
  • Ability to undertake Spill Response Training
  • PPE Maintenance and Manual Handling activities
  • Basic Understanding of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regulatory Requirements
  • First Aid Basic (desirable)
