Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Associate Solicitor to join our team. As an Associate Solicitor, you will play a key role in advising clients on construction-related matters and handling disputes through arbitration, court, or adjudication.

  • Deal with building design/construction files
  • Manage front and back end work (contentious and non contentious)
  • Maintain a strong line of communication with various stakeholders eg. principals, contractors, consultants
  • Handle disputes through arbitration, court, or adjudication in a professional and timely manner

Requirements:

  • Ideal experience working with contracts relating to commercial building and civil projects.
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry is highly regarded (eg. private sector contractors, developers or design consultants or public sector such as State or local government).
  • Require prior knowledge about building and construction legislation (e.g QBCC Act, BIFA).
  • Knowledge and understanding of public sector procedures for tendering and contracts.
  • Ability to manage junior lawyers.
  • Deal with large quantities of documentation, and distil relevant information from the documentation.
