Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Category Growth Manager to join our Purchasing team. This role involves driving commercial growth, innovation, and execution across various categories, ensuring a diverse range of high-quality products and a seamless user experience for our customers.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in category management, preferably within an e-commerce, retail, or FCMG environment. You will possess excellent analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to recognize opportunities for growth. Strong communication and engagement skills will enable you to build effective relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commercial strategies to expand categories, including sourcing and developing new products.
- Foster partnerships with key suppliers from world-renowned brands and Kogan.com's exclusive brands.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to align category strategy outcomes.
- Analyze logistics, warehousing, and shipping options to optimize product delivery efficiency.
- Utilize market trend analysis to maximize profitability through a deep understanding of your category.
- Promote proactive, innovative approaches to continually develop your category for our customers.
- Negotiate optimal trading terms and prices.
- Design and implement promotional strategies and price changes across multiple sales channels.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels, plan promotional activity, and respond to market conditions to meet revenue and profit targets.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A University Degree in a relevant field, such as Commerce, Business, Entrepreneurship, Merchandising, Planning, or eCommerce.
- Proven experience as a Category Manager, preferably in an e-commerce, retail, or FCMG environment.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Highly analytical skills, with commercial acumen and the ability to recognize opportunities for growth.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with advanced skills in VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Ability to apply logical thinking and critical interpretation of data to drive actionable insights.
