At Australia Post, we're driving innovation and growth across our operations. We're seeking a seasoned commercial lawyer to join our in-house legal team in Melbourne.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of post-admission experience, preferably with a top-tier firm or demonstrated in-house expertise. They'll hold an unrestricted Australian practicing certificate and possess strong knowledge in procurement and general commercial contract law.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive lawyer to make a meaningful impact on our business success. The ideal candidate will be able to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, effectively influence external parties, and contribute to the development of our company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate information technology agreements, including SAAS contracts, software licenses, hardware sale agreements, and support & maintenance agreements
- Advise on regulatory matters, including privacy, data protection, and cyber-security issues
- Draft and negotiate commercial contracts that achieve business objectives and allocate risk according to our risk appetite
- Provide pragmatic legal support to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with our regulatory framework and risk management policies
- Develop and maintain standard form legal documentation, resources, and toolkits
About You:
- A minimum of 5 years of post-admission experience, preferably with a top-tier firm or demonstrated in-house expertise
- An unrestricted Australian practicing certificate
- Strong knowledge in procurement and general commercial contract law
- Excellent drafting and communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes a comprehensive health insurance plan, generous superannuation contributions, and access to ongoing professional development opportunities.
