The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Workshop Fitter to join our Remanufacturing division at Hitachi Construction Machinery. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing components to customer specifications, while providing quality diagnostic and general maintenance services in a professional and timely manner.
Based in our Forrestdale branch, you will be trained to perform major component overhauls on a wide range of components, ensuring all work is carried out in a safe manner. You will also be responsible for completing and submitting relevant paperwork and reports, as well as maintaining a clean and tidy working environment in line with our 5S standards.
To be successful in this role, you will have relevant trade qualifications, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn. A Heavy Rigid driver's license and High Risk Work licenses (forklift, dogging, working at heights, etc.) would be highly regarded. You will also have a safety focus and a good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, maintain, and repair components to customer specifications
- Perform major component overhauls on a wide range of components
- Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner
- Complete and submit relevant paperwork and reports
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment
