Public Health Medicine Specialist Role

This is a rewarding career opportunity for an experienced Public Health Physician. The position is ideally suited to a consultant with expertise in rural, Aboriginal and One Health focused work, and a passion for contributing to evidence-based public health medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaising with the public and agencies at local, state and federal government levels regarding communicable disease and environmental health issues.
  • Involved in strategic planning and programme quality review for environmental health, immunisation and communicable diseases with a particular focus on conditions that are notifiable under the NSW Public Health Act.
  • Developing and implementing systems to ensure data quality and equity in service provision, particularly for Aboriginal communities.
  • Following up on infectious diseases outbreaks and conducting outbreak investigations, and on-call service provision including as human biosecurity officer.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Completion of fellowship of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine and specialist registration with AHPRA.
  • Evidence of recent and comprehensive experience in Public Health Medicine.
